When words just don't cut it, try an image instead! Adding images to your posts is a great way to make your content easier to understand β and more fun to read. πΈ
Inserting images
There are four ways to add an image into a post:
Drag and drop the image directly onto the post.
Type "/image" in a post to bring up the image uploader. You can click on the uploader to add your image or drag and drop the image into the uploader.
Copy the image and paste it directly onto the post.
Copy and paste the URL of a publicly accessible image.
Formatting images
Resizing images
By default, images inserted into a post will be displayed at the default width but can be resized to half-width or full-width.
To resize an image:
Hover on the image.
Click Half width, Default width, or Full width within the toolbar.
Repositioning images
Images inserted into a post will be centered by default but can be repositioned alongside text.
To reposition an image:
Hover over the image.
Click Float Left or Float Right in the toolbar.
Adding captions to images
You can include a caption under an image for more context.
To add a caption:
Click the image.
Click the Add a caption field.
Moving images
To move an image to another area within a post:
Hover over the image.
Use the drag handle on the left-side corner of the image to drag and drop your image to the desired location.
Viewing images in full-screen
To view an image in full-screen, double-click the image or:
Hover the image.
Click the β¦ menu.
Click View fullscreen.
Adding comments and reactions to images
Add a comment or reaction to an image for additional context or feedback. Learn more about comments here.
To add a comment or reaction to an image:
Hover over the image.
Click the π¬ comment bubble icon or π reaction icon within the toolbar.
Supported file types and sizes
Slab supports the following image formats:
AVIF
BMP
GIF
JPEG
PNG
SVG
WEBP
To optimize loading performance for posts, we recommend:
JPEG and PNG images smaller than 10MB will be used as it is, and those larger than 10MB will be compressed and converted to JPEG.
GIF and SVG files must be 10MB or smaller.
