What is an embed?
An embed is a link to live content from another tool, right from within a Slab post.
Here is an example of a Google Sheet being embedded into a Slab post. You can view (and in the case of Sheets, edit) the content right from Slab.
With embeds, you can keep all the context alongside the post, and save yourself from having to keep multiple tabs open.
How do I embed something in Slab?
Simply copy the link from the tool and paste it into Slab - if we support that type of link, we will embed the content for you.
What embeds does Slab support?
- Google docs, slides, sheets, files
- GitHub Issues and Pull Requests
- JIRA Issues
- Mode Analytics
- Videos from YouTube, Dropbox, Vimeo, Wistia
- Draw.io and Lucidchart via Google Drive
We are constantly adding new embeds, so don't hesitate to let us know what you'd like to see!
How do permissions work with embeds?
For all embeds, we will follow the permissions of the service that is being embedded.
For Google Drive, you need to be signed in to your Drive in the same browser to see embedded content -- and you will not see content that you're not shared on.
