Post annotations

Add supplementary notes and references to your posts using annotations

Updated over a week ago

Annotations can be used to add footnotes, supplementary information, and references to a post. This way, your Slab posts can still maintain helpful details without detracting from the main ideas or overall objective!

Adding annotations

Say you want to add a reference to the source that inspired a specific section of your post. Or perhaps you want to add more context to your post, but it doesn't quite belong in the post body.

Those are just a few examples, but this is where annotations can really shine!

To add an annotation:

  1. In edit mode, highlight the relevant text.

  2. Click the … menu in the toolbar.

  3. Click Add annotation.

  4. Type in your annotation.

  5. Optionally, click the πŸ“Ž paperclip icon to add a link reference.

  6. Click Annotate.

Now you've added the annotation. Normally, the annotation is hidden away. You can click the blue annotation icon to reveal the annotated text and annotation.

Editing and deleting annotations

Annotations can be edited or deleted in both edit and read mode by anyone on your team.

To edit an annotation:

  1. Click on the annotation.

  2. Click the πŸ“ Edit icon.

  3. Make your changes.

  4. Click Save.

To delete an annotation:

  1. Click on the annotation.

  2. Click the Delete icon.

  3. Click Delete.
