Find content in all your team's tools right inside Slab

Slab's Unified Search feature allows you to search across your integrations — without leaving Slab. You can find what you need within seconds, no matter where it lives!

To use Unified Search, simply type any search terms into the search bar. You'll then see results across your enabled integrations.

💡 Tip: For some integrations, such as Google Drive and Dropbox, you can hover over the icon of any search results to see a preview of the result. This feature helps you find what you need even faster.

Types of Unified Search integrations

Unified Search exists on two levels: team and individual. Team search must be set up by admins, and it allows the entire team to search across the content in the respective integration. Individual search must be set up by each user, and it will only be usable individually.

Some integrations support team search, some integrations support individual search, and some integrations support both.

We currently support team Unified Search for the following integrations:

  • Dropbox

  • Height

  • GitHub

  • Google Drive

  • Guru

  • Linear

  • Quip

  • Slack

  • Zendesk

We currently support individual Unified Search for the following integrations:

  • Asana

  • Box

  • Confluence

  • Dropbox

  • Google Drive

  • Jira

  • Slack

  • Trello

Team Unified Search

Slab admins can enable team Unified Search for all users.

To enable team search for an integration:

  1. Click your team name in the top-left corner of the sidebar.

  2. Click Team Settings in the dropdown menu.

  3. Go to Integrations and find the integration you want to enable.

    1. If there is an Enable button, this means that the integration must be enabled before accessing. Click the Enable button and connect your account.

    2. If there is a Modify button, your integration has already been enabled. Click the Modify button.

  4. Click the Search tab in the modal and enable search.

  5. Click Save.

Individual Unified Search

Each user can set up individual Unified Search for their own use.

To enable individual search:

  1. Click on the search bar.

  2. Type your search query, and press Enter.

  3. Click the Manage button next to Search Results to see the list of available individual integrations.

  4. Click on the desired integration, and follow the authentication process.
