All Slab Posts begin as drafts. You can do a lot with drafts — use them to edit new posts that you're not ready to share with the world, or as a sandbox to jot down private notes and ideas! 📝
Creating new drafts
To start a new draft, click Create Post in the upper right-hand corner of the home page, drafts page, search page, or a topic page.
Pro tip: you can also email drafts@slab.com to start a new draft from within your inbox! 🙌
Once a draft is created, it can exist in both editing mode and reading mode. To switch to editing mode, hit e or i. To switch to reading mode, hit Cmd+Enter.
By default, drafts are only visible to you, and they can't be found by search. To make a draft visible to others, share its link — it can then be accessed by those with the link.
Creating drafts from published posts
To revert a published post into a draft, click the ... menu in the top right-hand corner of the page and select Unpublish. This will turn the post into a draft again, and the Publish button will reappear at the top of the page.
If you want to privately edit a published post, you can make a copy of the post and edit the copy. Click the ... menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select Make a copy. This will duplicate the post in draft form.
Then, you can re-publish the post once you're done editing, and delete the original.
If you do accidentally edit a published post, not to worry — you can always revert to a previous version.
Publishing drafts
To publish a draft, click the Publish button at the top of the page. This will make the post visible to everyone in your organization.
