Slab features powerful search capabilities right out of the box.

For example, Slab prioritizes search results based on your history of reads, as well as for any posts you're mentioned in.

Slab Search also shows results before you finish typing:

Faceted Search

Faceted Search makes it easier to find relevant information faster.

Here's how it works.

  1. Type your keyword in the search bar.
  2. Then type "in" followed by a colon. A list of topics will appear that you can choose to narrow your search.

Want to find references for the term 'writing' in Product only (and not across your entire org)? Faceted Search make sit possible:

Unified Search

Unified Search makes it easy for you to search for knowledge across your existing apps, all within your Slab library.

Note: Each team member needs to enable Unified Search in order to access this feature. That's because search results are private to each team member, meaning, for example, no one else on the team will see their Google Drive results, other than them.

To enable Unified Search, click on the "+" symbol on the search results page. You can access the search results page by conducting a search inside Slab.

A modal will pop up. Sign into each of the apps to connect them to Slab. Once, connected, content from those apps will appear inside Slab's search results.

We currently support Unified Search for the following apps:

  • Dropbox
  • Slack
  • Google Drive
